For Adif, the body conforming quality of the historical garment serves as an empowering tool that amplifies the wearer’s confidence.
This one-of-a-kind corset piece was handmade by Putri Adif using a batik fabric printed with floral motifs. For Adif, the body conforming quality of the historical garment serves as an empowering tool that amplifies the wearer’s confidence. This piece was made with cotton and polyester boning to produce a softness that is both structured and comfortable.
Adif is a Singaporean womenswear designer who graduated with a Diploma in Fashion Design from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts in 2019. She contrasts Malay heritage with western influences through her custom corset pieces that are constructed with vibrant batik fabrics. Her designs have been worn by Singaporean musicians Aisyah Aziz and Naralle Kheng.
